EXPLORE FATHOM'S
Principles
Principles aren't just guidelines; they're the cornerstones of your Personal Leadership Philosophy. Whether you’re at work, home, or in the community, your Principles dictate how you interact with the world. At Fathom, we help you build your set of Principles through a well-defined framework, allowing you to clearly articulate what drives your decision-making process and shapes your unique personal philosophy for life.
Your Journey, Your Rules
Fathom's Principles are not one-size-fits-all. They reflect Fathom's core values, like courage and commitment, and serve as a starting point to help you develop your own philosophy for life. We're here to engage, energise, and empower you, not to set rigid guidelines.
INTRODUCING THE
Principles Model
Not all principles will resonate with you, and that's okay. The Fathom Model aims to give you the tools to discover or affirm your own guiding rules. It breaks down into four key areas:
Values: The core ideals that you live by.
Beliefs: The lens through which you see the world.
Traits: The characteristics that influence your actions.
Strengths: Your inherent abilities and skills.
If you find that Fathom's Principles aren't in sync with your Values, Beliefs, Traits and Strengths, use that awareness to define what works for you. Ask yourself, 'What are the Personal Principles that I choose to live by?'
EXPLORE THE
Fathom Principles
Below you'll find Fathom's core Principles. They have been designed to help you keep each of the four Fathom Forces™ front-of-mind and help you integrate them into your daily life. As you read through the Principles, take a moment to notice which of them resonate most strongly with your values and needs...
PRESENCE
When you feel the urge to act, first consider your desired outcome & how it can be achieved. Notice if the impact you have is as intended, before deciding how to act next.
PRINCIPLE 001
ACT WITH INTENTION & NOTICE YOUR IMPACT
Take time to look after and serve your own needs, so that you can be at your best when the time comes to look after and be of service to others.
PRINCIPLE 002
BALANCE SELF-CARE & SERVICE TO OTHERS
The decisions you make and actions you take today will either benefit or harm your future self. You're writing your own history each and every day, so be sure to give gifts not curses.
PRINCIPLE 003
BE A FRIEND TO YOUR FUTURE SELF
PURPOSE
Prioritise seeking depth and meaning in your actions, rather than chasing short-term status and superficial markers of success.
PRINCIPLE 004
SEEK SIGNIFICANCE OVER STATUS
Identify the direction in which you want your life to head, create a plan and start the journey. You can always change the destination along the way.
PRINCIPLE 005
CHOOSE A DIRECTION & COMMIT TO A PLAN
Ensure your daily deeds reflect your long-term goals; consistent alignment can lead to significant life advancements.
PRINCIPLE 006
ALIGN ACTIONS WITH ASPIRATIONS
PURSUIT
Take steps to become a bit better at what you choose to do each & every day. The cumulative effect will deliver exponential results and improvements in your life.
PRINCIPLE 010
BECOME 1% BETTER EACH & EVERY DAY
Growth, progress & development are only possible when you have the courage to step into your stretch zone. Choose to spend more time there.
PRINCIPLE 011
CHOOSE COURAGE OVER COMFORT
You can't always choose your thoughts and emotions, but you can take a step back, notice, manage & process them, rather than letting them spiral out of control.
PRINCIPLE 012
CREATE & TAKE OPPORTUNITIES
PERSPECTIVE
Learn from what has been, and let go of any regret, guilt or shame associated with past events. Take time to appreciate where you are now and to optimise what comes next.
PRINCIPLE 007
LET GO OF THE PAST & OPTIMISE THE FUTURE
You can't always choose your thoughts and emotions, but you can take a step back, notice, manage & process them, rather than letting them spiral out of control.
PRINCIPLE 008
DON'T DISAPPEAR DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
Accept that all experiences, whether joyful or challenging, are temporary; life's constant flux ensures change is inevitable.
